Wakulla Spring is one of the world's largest and deepest freshwater springs, and swimmers get a designated area beside it plus a 22-foot dive and observation tower for anyone who wants the jump. The water stays around 69 to 70°F. Manatees and alligators live in these waters, so keep to the swim area, which closes whenever thunderstorms threaten.

- Edward Ball Wakulla Springs State Park, 465 Wakulla Park Drive, open 8 a.m. until sundown, 365 days a year. Entry is $6 per vehicle (2-8 occupants), $4 for a single-occupant vehicle and $2 for pedestrians, cyclists and extra occupants.
