St. George Island State Park
Dr. Julian G. Bruce St. George Island State Park covers the undeveloped east end of the island, with nine miles of beach and about four reachable from the main park drive. The Sugar Hill and East Slough use areas have Mobi-Mats, pavilions, restrooms and cold rinse showers. There are no lifeguards, so read the posted warning flags and keep swims close to shore when the Gulf is up.

- Getting in
- East end of St. George Island; entry $6 per vehicle; open 8 a.m. to sundown, 365 days a year. About 4 of the park's 9 miles of beach are reachable along the main drive; East Pass is reachable only on foot, by bike or by boat.

- Beach access from numbered pull-offs along the main park drive and at the East Slough and Sugar Hill beach use areas.

- Florida Department of Health Healthy Beaches Program samples the 'St George Island State Park' site for enterococci bacteria every 1–2 weeks depending on county (Good 0–35, Moderate 36–70, Poor 71+ per 100 mL); an advisory is issued when a sample and its resample both exceed 70.
- Season
- Open year-round; sea turtles and shorebirds nest on the beach in summer.
- Watch for
- Beach warning flags: double red means no swimming; red means high surf and/or strong currents
- Pets are not allowed on the beach
