South Edison Beach, Montauk
South Edison Beach is one of the Town of East Hampton's guarded ocean beaches, a short walk from downtown Montauk at the end of South Edison Street. It faces the open Atlantic, with lifeguards on duty from 9 to 5 and a surf wheelchair available while they are on. Nearby street parking is sold in four- and eight-hour sessions by phone, so a day swim does not need a town permit.
