Llyn Padarn is a glacial lake up to 29 m deep beside Llanberis, with the Llanberis Lake Railway running along its far shore. It was designated a bathing water in 2014 and was rated Excellent in 2025. The south-western shore by the Lonely Tree, a short walk from the water sports centre car park, is an easy place to get in; watch for rowers and kayaks.

- Getting in
- Most of the lake is owned by Gwynedd Council and forms part of Padarn Country Park. Kayaking, rowing and sailing are allowed; powered craft need permission.

- The Lonely Tree on the south-western shore is a short walk from the Llanberis Water Sports Centre car park.
