Lake Minneola – Clermont Waterfront Park

This sandy city park on the south shore of Lake Minneola is a triathlon hub: the Great Clermont Triathlon's 1.5K course loops out from here, and the Clermont Triathlon Club runs free group swims off the beach. The lake looks brown up close and blue from a distance. Swim in daylight, as Florida wildlife officials advise for lakes with alligators, and go with the group rather than alone.

Best conditions: Early-season race mornings; the Great Clermont Triathlon projects water temperatures of 68–78°F in early March.
Getting in: Free public city park on Lake Minneola between East Avenue and Eighth Street (3rd Street entrance), Clermont.

Who swims here: Clermont Triathlon Club hosts free open water swims and coached swim training at Waterfront Park. Sommer Sports' Great Clermont Triathlon swims a triangular 1,500-meter course in Lake Minneola and offers a standalone 1.5K open water swim.
Watch for: Alligators live in freshwater lakes in all 67 Florida counties; FWC advises swimming only in designated areas during daylight, as they are most active from dusk to dawn
