Hollywood Beach (Broadwalk)

Hollywood's beach runs beside the 2.5-mile brick Broadwalk, with open Atlantic water guarded year-round from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and showers and restrooms along the promenade. Harrison Street sits near the busy middle of it. Paddleboards and kayaks may use the whole beach before 10 a.m. and after 5 p.m., so early swimmers should wear a bright cap.

Best conditions: Light-wind days; wave size varies with tides, wind and offshore systems.
Getting in: Public beach along the 2.5-mile brick Broadwalk; accessible beach access points include Johnson, Harrison, Tyler and New York Streets.
Parking & transport: City garages at Garfield Street and Nevada Street, public spaces in the Margaritaville garage, and metered on-street parking; the Hollywood Sun Shuttle costs $2 per ride.
Lifeguards: Hollywood Beach Safety guards 4.5 miles of public beach 365 days a year from 21 towers, 9:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m. (until 7:00 p.m. on holidays and special events).
Water quality: Florida Department of Health Healthy Beaches Program samples the 'Harrison Street' site for enterococci bacteria every 1–2 weeks depending on county (Good 0–35, Moderate 36–70, Poor 71+ per 100 mL); an advisory is issued when a sample and its resample both exceed 70.
Season: Year-round; guarded every day.
Watch for: Paddlecraft may use the entire beach before 10 a.m. and after 5 p.m.
