DuBois Park Lagoon

DuBois Park wraps a small, sheltered lagoon on the south side of the Jupiter Inlet, an easy place for short swims and snorkeling with the red inlet lighthouse across the water. Guards cover the lagoon daily during school summer break and on weekends the rest of the year. Boats and inlet currents run just outside, so stay inside the guarded area.

Know before you go

Best conditions: Days when lifeguards are on duty (daily in summer recess, weekends during the school year).
Getting in: Palm Beach County park at 19075 DuBois Road, open sunrise to sunset; about 100 feet of guarded lagoon beach plus 1,200 feet of Intracoastal frontage.
Parking & transport: Free on-site lot that fills early on weekends.
Lifeguards: Guarded seven days a week during Palm Beach County public-school summer recess, then on weekends only during the school year, whenever a condition flag is flying from the tower; the Intracoastal frontage is guarded in the snorkeling area only.
Water quality: Florida Department of Health Healthy Beaches Program samples the 'DuBois Park' site for enterococci bacteria every 1–2 weeks depending on county (Good 0–35, Moderate 36–70, Poor 71+ per 100 mL); an advisory is issued when a sample and its resample both exceed 70. A second site, 'DuBois Snorkel Lagoon', is also sampled.
Season: Year-round; lifeguards daily in summer recess and weekends the rest of the year.
Watch for: Boat traffic through the lagoon
