Weirs Beach, Lake Winnipesaukee

The wide public sand beach at The Weirs, on Lake Winnipesaukee's southern shore beside the boardwalk and the MS Mount Washington's summer port. Laconia did not staff lifeguards here in 2026, so treat it as an unguarded swim and bring a buddy. Kayaks and paddleboards launch from the far left beyond the bathhouse, which keeps boats out of the designated swim area.

Know before you go

Getting in: City beach (Endicott Rock Park) on Lakeside Avenue; free to enter. Beaches open 7am, and Weirs Beach closes at midnight.
Parking & transport: Paid parking at kiosks next to the beach (choose your space number; overstaying brings a ticket) plus meters along Lakeside Avenue.
Lifeguards: The City of Laconia did not staff lifeguards at Weirs Beach for the 2026 season and posts 'swim at your own risk.'
Water quality: The city says its beaches are not maintained or tested outside beach season. NHDES uses E. coli as the freshwater indicator (advisory if one sample exceeds 158 or two exceed 88 per 100 mL) and posts bacteria advisories and cyanobacteria watches and warnings on its Healthy Swimming Mapper.
Season: City beach season started June 27 in 2026 and runs through the summer.
Watch for: Unguarded swimming
Boat traffic on the lake; paddle craft are not allowed in the swim area
