Lovers Point

Lovers Point's small beach sits in a cove on the Pacific Grove shore, sheltered from the wind by the point and by thick kelp beds, and the water is often clear. The Kelp Krawlers have held a weekly Sunday swim here for years. The cove is a marine reserve, and white sharks have been reported nearby, so swim with a group, stay near shore and check the county's beach postings.

Who swims here: The Kelp Krawlers, a local open water group of skin and wetsuit swimmers, hold their weekly Sunday swim at Lovers Point.
Watch for: White sharks: a swimmer was bitten here in June 2022, and a longtime swimmer went missing in a suspected shark attack in December 2025
