Lake Willoughby North Beach
A fjord-like glacial lake in the Northeast Kingdom, over 300 feet deep between the cliffs of Mount Pisgah and Mount Hor, and known for its clarity and chilly water. The public North Beach runs about a quarter mile along the north shore at the outlet, looking straight down the gap. Swim with a partner and a bright tow float, and keep early-season swims short until you know how the cold affects you.

- Getting in
- Public beach about a quarter mile long on the north shore at the lake's outlet in Westmore; the area is reached via State Routes 5 and 5A, with 5A running along the lake's eastern edge. A second public beach sits at the bottom of the South Bay.
