Dorabelle Picnic Area, Shaver Lake
Dorabelle is the Forest Service picnic and swim area inside Dorabelle Campground, in the town of Shaver Lake at about 5,500 feet in the Sierra National Forest. Fir, cedar and pine shade much of the campground, and Dorabelle Cove opens up just to the east. Day use is $10 per vehicle from May through September, and there is no drinking water at the picnic site, so bring your own.
