Cocoa Beach Pier

The 800-foot Cocoa Beach Pier anchors a long stretch of Atlantic sand, and Brevard County keeps a lifeguard tower here year-round, staffed 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Surfers work the waves around the pier, so swimmers do best in the guarded water in front of the tower. City street-end lots along the beach are paid by app, so plan for parking.

Getting in: Public beach at the Westgate Cocoa Beach Pier, 401 Meade Ave., Cocoa Beach.
Parking & transport: City of Cocoa Beach parking, including the Meade Avenue street end next to the pier, is paid through the Passport Parking app: $6 per hour (1-hour minimum) plus a small app fee.
Lifeguards: Brevard County Ocean Rescue full-time tower at the pier, staffed daily 10 a.m.–5 p.m. year-round.
Water quality: Florida Department of Health Healthy Beaches Program samples the 'Cocoa Beach Pier' site for enterococci bacteria every 1–2 weeks depending on county (Good 0–35, Moderate 36–70, Poor 71+ per 100 mL); an advisory is issued when a sample and its resample both exceed 70.
Season: Year-round; the pier tower is one of Brevard's full-time lifeguard stations.
