Castaic Lagoon Swim Beach
The lagoon below Castaic Dam is the only place in the recreation area where swimming is allowed: designated beaches on the west side, open in summer Wednesday to Sunday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., with lifeguards on duty. Gas engines are banned on the lagoon, so you share it with kayaks and float tubes. Budget $15 for vehicle entry; state park passes are not accepted.

- Getting in
- Lower Lake Lagoon in Castaic Lake State Recreation Area (run by LA County Parks), off I-5 at Lake Hughes Road. Swimming only at the designated West Side Lagoon swim beaches when a lifeguard is on duty; swimming is prohibited on the upper lake.
- Parking & transport
- Vehicle entry $15/day ($8 seniors/disabled); California State Parks passes are not accepted. The park is closed Mondays and Tuesdays.
