Playa Huatatas

A coastal beach in southern Peru with Pacific swells and sandy bottom suitable for intermediate swimmers comfortable with wave action. The water is cool due to the Humboldt Current, but conditions are generally manageable in calm periods. Scout the conditions from shore first and swim parallel to the beach to avoid rip currents.
